Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Open Mic League. By creating an account, submitting content, voting, or otherwise using the service, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any event-specific rules that apply to a competition or weekly battle.

- If you are under the age of majority where you live, you should use the service only with parent or guardian permission.
- You may not use the service if you are barred from doing so under applicable law.
Your Account
- You are responsible for the accuracy of your registration information and for keeping your login credentials secure.

- impersonate artists, rights holders, judges, staff, or other users
- harass, threaten, exploit, or abuse other people on or through the service

Artist Submissions and User Content
You keep ownership of the content you submit, but you are responsible for making sure you have all rights, permissions, consents, and clearances needed to upload and use that content on Open Mic League.
By submitting content to the service, you give Open Mic League a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, store, format, display, stream, perform, distribute within the service, and promote that content as reasonably necessary to operate the platform and showcase the competition, your submission, related battles, results, and Open Mic League marketing tied to the service.
This license is limited to operating, improving, and promoting Open Mic League and the relevant submission or event. It does not transfer ownership of your content to us, and it is not intended to be broader than needed to run a music competition and artist discovery platform.
Your Content Promises
- You represent that you own or control the rights needed for the content you upload or link.
- You represent that your content does not infringe copyrights, trademarks, publicity rights, privacy rights, or other third-party rights.
- You understand that Open Mic League may remove or restrict content if rights questions, moderation issues, or safety concerns arise.
Voting Integrity and Competition Fairness
Open Mic League may investigate suspicious voting, fake engagement, coordinated manipulation, bot activity, duplicate accounts, or attempts to game rankings, battles, or outcomes. We may discount votes, freeze results, remove submissions, disqualify entrants, or suspend accounts when we believe integrity is at risk.
Moderation, Suspension, and Termination
We may review content and platform activity to enforce these Terms, the Community Rules, the Competition Rules, and our Copyright Policy. We may remove content, limit visibility, restrict features, suspend users, terminate accounts, or take other action when we reasonably believe it is necessary for safety, integrity, legal compliance, or platform operations.
Service Availability, Disclaimers, and Liability Limits
Open Mic League is provided on an as available and as is basis to the extent allowed by law. We do not promise uninterrupted service, error-free operation, specific competition outcomes, guaranteed exposure, or that every submission will remain available at all times.
To the extent permitted by law, Open Mic League and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from use of the service. Our total liability for claims relating to the service will be limited to the amount you paid us for the relevant service in the prior 12 months, or if you paid nothing, a reasonable nominal amount under applicable law.
Governing Law and Disputes
Governing law, venue, arbitration, or court forum language should be reviewed and finalized with counsel before public beta. Until then, this section is intentionally a placeholder and will be updated in a later legal pass.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as the product, rules, and legal setup evolve. If we make material changes, we may revise the effective date, post the updated Terms here, and provide additional notice when appropriate.
